GARY SPEED'S TRANSFERS
Luke Steele: The boy has a lot of potential and has proven to be a a decent keeper after spending last season on loan at Coventry City. Fee:FREE
Bogdan Lobont: Has gained first team experience at Ajax and has played first team football. Ajax have found a succesor to the romanian shot stopper. Bogdan will be in contention for the no.1 jersey. Fee:£500k
Brad Friedel: The american is hailed as one of the best keepers in the premiership and seems perfect for Jammy Utd. Brad has a vast experience and in the 02/03 season he kept 15 clean sheets. Fee:£1.5m
Michael Gray: Another experienced player the ex-Sunderland left back can also play on the left wing. This skill will only benefit a team searching for players on a budget. Fee:FREE
Matthias Lehmann: The young german left back is tipped as the next star in German football. Matthias is talented and will be sufficent if not better backup for Michael Gray. He is currently one of 1860 munich's best players.Fee:£1m
Claus Lundekvam: The experienced norwegian centre back has already proven himself in the premiership. Claus will probably only play for a year I hope that we can take him on as a coach. Fee:FREE
Jonathan Spector: Tha young american has already played champions league football with Man Utd and he will probably be pushing for a place quite in the defence soon as he has an Aerial presence. Fee:FREE
Tomas Hubschman: Tomas is widely regarded as the next big thing in european football. He played Champions league football with Shaktar. However Tomas is yet to prove himself at a competitive level he will almost certainly be in the back four for the campaign ahead. Fee:£3.5m
Ivan Campo: What is there to say about Ivan? He is experienced and has won the champions league, La Liga and the Copa del Rey with real madrid. Bolton signed him a few years ago and he has improved as a centre back and as a holding midfielder. Fee:£100k
Justin Hoyte: Disapointed with a lack of first team at Arsenal the young right back is will flourish at Jammy Utd. Wenger regarded Hoyte as the next England right back however he was reluctant to sell him. Fee:£500k
Remo Meyer: Another player from 1860 munich. Remo is Swiss and can play in the right back position. Remo is young and will be the favourite for the right back role. However he is yet to prove himself in the top flight. Fee:£900k
David Bentley: David will be prefered as a left side of midfielder this season although he can play in the centre or up front if needed. He was on loan at Norwich from Arsenal last season and he showed skill and finesse in his game. Fee:£1.3m
Luis Figo: The Portuguese hero is regarded as one of the best players in the world. He can play anywhere in midfield and this versatility will be needed for our campaign this season. I was shocked as we were able to buy Luis from real with ease. Fee:£2m
Joey Barton: Buying Joey will be seen in the media as risk as he has such a poor disiplinary record. However this overshadows actually how well Joey can play in midfield. I hope that this risk will pay off as I see Joey vying for a first team place. Fee:£2.3m
Roy Keane: Roy Keane is reverred as one of the best midfielders ever. You can see why as he controls the midfield and is a leader. I was suprised to be able to sign Keane from Man Utd as he probably still needed there. He will be the club captain this season. Fee:£4m
Benedict Villakazi: He is regarded as the next big thing in africa and you can see why as he controls the ball and passing with skill. Benedict is an attacking midfielder and an excellant addition for the squad. Fee:£100k
Edgar Davids: After a rough season at Inter, Edgar was allowed to leave. Even though he has been frozen out of the dutch national team Edgar is still skilled in the centre of midfield. His best attribute is his passing and will be key in the coming season. Fee:£4m (bargain)
Jermaine Pennant: Jermaine was regarded as the best youngster in English football a few years back. He is a pacy right winger. He was frozen out of the Arsenal first team for years and was recently put into the slammer. He was out of contract in the summer and we had to fight off interest from Birmingham to sign him. Fee:FREE
Marcelo Gallardo: The ex-monaco winger can play anywhere in midfield. He is skilled and pacy like Jermaine. However he is also a free kick specialist. However not many other managers saw him like that and he had to move to River 2 seasons ago for first team football. The opportunity for Marcelo to play in the Premiership was too good to refuse and he was allowed to leave for us. Fee:FREE
Maciej Zurawski: The Polish hit man was the top scorer in the polish top flight last season for Wisla Krakow. He is also an international. Maciej or Magic is perfect for our club as he is proven as a goal scorer. Fee:£1m
Patrick Kluivert: Some people have said that Kluivert is past his best. Maybe they are right as he had a poor season with Newcastle last year. I see Kluivert as a target man as last year he scored and set up goals with his head. We had competition for his signature with Valencia but Patrick decided to join us. Fee:FREE
Helder Postiga: The ex-Porto striker has won the UEFA cup and every thing there is to win in Portugal. 2 years ago Spurs signed but he was a failure and he rejoined Porto. Hopefully Helder will show the goal scoring prowess he had when he scored against England in EURO 2004. Fee:£4m
Dado Prso: With funds low we had to sign a good striker. Dorinel suggested that we go to sign Dado Prso. He helped Rangers to win the SPL last season and he aided Monaco with their champions league exploits the season before that. In Croatia he is seen as the next Davor Suker. Fee:£2m
The team we have now is strongest in the centre of midfield. However we will need to improve our defence. We have only £3.3m to do so.

Result: 0-3
Scorers JUFC: Hubschman 22, Figo 30, Kluivert 90+1
Comment: That was a very important game in the season for us as we recorded an away win after we had crumpled at Anfield 2 matches ago. Edgar Davids picked up an injury at half time which rules him out for at least 2 weeks. The pick of the goals was a 35 yard screamer from Figo as his shot stunned Filan and flew dangerously into the net.

Result: 1-1
Scorer CFC: Robben 1
Scorer JUFC: Straws 89
Comment: The new tactic worked after the break as in the first half we were soundly beaten in the midfield. Another plus we can take from the game was the performance of Gary Straws. His goal came after Barton robbed Crespo of the ball at the d in our half, he played a long pass to Straws who played a 1,2 with Meyer which dumbfounded Robben, Gary then ran past three defenders and beat Cech in an one on one challenge then had a tap in to score on his debut.

Result: 0-0
Comment: We didn't perform well today even though we had the lion's share of the chances. Our strikers couldn't pierce a mediocre defensive line. Bryan Robson will walk away from the LEGO Arena the happiest of the managers. Extra training on our strikers will be needed.

Result: 0-5
Scorers JUFC: Prso 12 & 34 & 51, Straws 19, Queudrue OG 67
Comment: This was an excellent game for us as we showed our quality up front and in midfield and in defence. Gary bought back the quality he showed for us against Chelsea as he bamboozled a skilled boro team. The best goal came from a corner from Pennant which was headed away by Gareth Southgate, the ball fell to the feet of Gary Straws about 35 yards from the goal, Gary then shot the ball towards the goal line but Schwarzer had it covered, Franck Queudrue then raced to the speeding ball and he managed to send the ball into the back of his own net with the aid of his Gluteus Maximus.

Result: 1-0
Scorer JUFC: Figo PEN 78
Comment: We deserved to win that match as we dominated the game however we were lacking in the finishing department. However I don't feel that we need to look into that. The penalty came from a cross from Pennant which was heading for the head of Postiga when he was brought down by James Collins in the air which will cause Helder to miss the next match, there was an arguement over who should take the penalty as Prso, Pennant, Keane, Gray and Figo all wanted to take it but in the end Luis was allowed to take it he sent the ball low to the right of the keeper.

Result: 2-3
Scorers JUFC: Straws 62, Zurawski 65
Scorers MUFC: Rooney 34 & 45+2, Giggs 78
Comment: It was a poor performance all around for our team but at one point we thought that the gods had mercy on us when it was 2-2 with 20 minutes to go but Ryan Giggs scored a superb goal to dampen our hopes. Our best goal was a freekick from Gary Straws which bamboozled Edwin Van der Sar from a narrow angle.

Result: 1-1
Scorer NUFC: Parker 5
Scorer JUFC: Figo PEN 90+2
Comment: St. James park is always a hard place to go and we were lucky not to get a womping here. Newcastle were seldom under any pressure during the match and Zurawski was marked out of the game and we were helpless up front. Keane stopped us from being overloaded in the middle of the park. The penalty came from a forward run from Straws where he beat Faye, Boumsong and almost rounded Shay Given but was brought down by the keeper. The referee sent Given off and Luis Figo put a cooly taken penalty towards the top right hand corner which sent harper the wrong way.

Scorers PFC: D.Silva 24, Vukic 67.
Comments: A good game for the goal scorers here but not as good for the defenders and goalies involved in this game. Our best goal came from a wicked free-kick from Jermaine Pennant which was 40 yards out and curled straight into the top left hand corner.

Comment: The lads gave themselves a good showing at one of the best teams in the premiership. Two wins on the bounce for us and Gary is proving himself as one of the best talents in english football. The best goal for us came from a Pennant corner which Sol Campbell headed away to Gary who made an audacious lob from 30 yards out which fooled Lehmann and bounced into the back of the net.
